Kaalia (1981) is a Hindi action-drama film directed by Tinnu Anand and produced by Iqbal Singh.
The film stars Amitabh Bachchan in the titular role, alongside Parveen Babi, Asha Parekh, Kader Khan, Pran, Amjad Khan, and K. N. Singh.

Music is composed by Rahul Dev Burman, with lyrics by Majrooh Sultanpuri.

Plot Summary
Kallu (Amitabh Bachchan), later known as Kaalia, lives a simple life with his elder brother Shamu (Kader Khan), sister-in-law Shanti (Asha Parekh), and niece.

Their lives take a tragic turn when Shamu loses his arm in a mill accident and is denied financial help by the cruel mill owner, Sahani Seth (Amjad Khan). Desperate, Kallu attempts to steal money for treatment—but arrives too late, and his brother dies.

Wrongly punished, Kallu is sent to prison, where he transforms into a hardened criminal. After his release, he seeks revenge:

• Steals gold hidden in the mill
• Burns down the mill
• Gets imprisoned again
• His accomplices deceive his family, claiming he works abroad

In prison, he meets jailer Raghveer Singh (Pran), whose own tragic past connects with Kalia’s journey.
After release, Kalia:

• Falls in love with Shalini (Parveen Babi)
• Is falsely framed for murder
• Escapes jail to save his kidnapped niece

Eventually, the jailer realizes the truth and joins Kalia in confronting the villain. Together, they rescue his family and bring justice.
